ENDANGERING OUR CHILDREN
By Daffy Duck
From February thru August this year I was unemployed. I would spend my mornings searching the internet for jobs at various sites dedicated to posting job listings. I would then get a paper and look through the classifieds. This would go on until well after noon before I would take a break. I would often watch some television for a while. I came across a talk show called “The Talk” hosted by 5 women. I was about to turn the channel when I heard something very disturbing—Lingerie for little kids. That’s right. Lingerie for girls as young as 4 years old. I was sitting on my couch when I heard this. My eyes widened and my jaw literally dropped. I thought they were kidding at first. As they started talking about it several questions came to mind.
Who In The Hell Is Stupid Enough To Do This?
There’s a company in France called Jours Apres Lunes that makes this crap. Apparently this company has no limits, because they don’t stop with lingerie for kids. They also make underwear for teens, children, and (are you ready for this) babies. Yes. Underwear for babies. Now some people might become concerned by this news, but Jours Apres Lunes states that we don’t have to worry. Why? That’s simple. The baby section features onsies, and only the kids and teens sections provide delicate two piece undergarments. They say that it’s a far cry from the adult provocative underwear and it borders on Victoria Secret. They also say that only some panties, bras, and camisoles have lace, ornaments, and bows. Hey, they’re right. We don’t have to worry!
WTF? Are you kidding? No kids clothing of any kind should come close to Victoria Secret. Unbelievable.
What Twisted Man Thought Of This?
Only a guy could think to make girls of all ages look sexy. That’s not entirely accurate. I hope you’re still sitting down. The person who’s’ bright idea this was is a woman not a guy. Her name is Sophie Morin. That’s right. A woman thought this would be a great idea. Just when I thought I couldn’t be surprised anymore. Wow! I am actually speechless.
Who Would Find This Good?
Pedophiles. These are the only people I could think of that would actually enjoy this crap. What a great idea. Let’s make little girls more irresistible to the warped individuals that can’t control themselves. Like they don’t already have enough reasons in their sick heads to prey on our children.
OMG. I get so pissed when I think of that.
Final Thoughts
I’m absolutely appalled by this. I just don’t understand how someone can think this is a good idea. Why would France allow this? It seems to me that any civilized society would not allow someone to do this. If someone tried this in the US that company would be boycotted and investigated. The person(s) responsible wouldn’t be able to show their face in public here. The US isn’t perfect, but when it comes to our children being placed in harm’s way we get pissed! This is absolutely unacceptable, and I hope that the French government pulls their heads out of their asses and shuts that crap down. Even as I’m writing this I’m still shaking my head.
What do you think of childrens lingerie?

right on target,.... nail 'em to the floor,.... this is just wrong on soooooo many levels,..... but so is beauty pagents for tiny girls who learn to thrust out thier chests and dance dirty on stage at the age of 4,... its a more and more depraved world.
Wow, I had no idea that this even existed until I read your hub on the subject. However, now that I know, I do have a few things to say. Granted, I have absolutely no idea what's culturally acceptable in France, so I can't comment on why the hell this stuff would be allowed over there. However, speaking purely for myself, I have to say this is kind of disturbing. Seriously, what purpose would making lingerie for kids this freaking young serve? there's no purpose for it, so why would the company that makes this product think this was such a good idea?
It just makes no sense, as you'd have to sink pretty low to make stuff like this in a cheap attempt to make a buck. Well, I hope your hub gets a lot of hits for this, as I think we need to get the word out to get crap like this off the shelves. Besides, lingerie should only be on women...or guys if they're into that sort of thing. I'm certainly NOT one of these types of guys, but if someone else is...then...more power to them. As Seinfeld would say, "Not that there's anything wrong with it." But to put lingerie on a child? Or a damn baby? Um...I think this woman needs to get her head examined. Anyway, thanks for writing this, as i'll be sure to share this as well.
Some people are only out to make a buck, regardless of who it hurts. Sick individuals indeed. Little girls are so vulnerable and it seems that even a grown woman will prey on them. Sick! If this happens here in the US I will be the first to protest.
@Real. Kohls has padded bras for girls? How young? Has there been any media attention about this and Kohls?
I thought this crap was only in France when I read about lingerie for girls. It's hard to believe that the US would allow such things as padded bras for girls because of "free enterprise" and "legalities". Like kids need to put themselves out there like that. They don't even understand that stuff.
@stclairjack: Beauty pagents for kids is just as stupid. I totally agree. The average gilr views roughly 1 million ads for beauty products by the time they graduate high school.
There is so much pressure on them to "look good" it's no wonder they become highly succeptible to eating disorders. The amount of pressure is enormous.
Then you add shows like "America's Next Top Model" where the women on there look anorexic before they even get a job.
It's estimated that over 75% of all women in a celebrated profession have an eating disorder. It's just sickening to see society exploit people like that and not care about their health.
@stevennix2001: I think it's interesting to note that societies overall are attempting to include kids in adult aspects of life more and more.
cell phones. Children as young as 3 can have a cell phone toy that resembles mom and dad's real phone. Then there's make up and jewelry toys for girls. How many other thing are out there like these.
Have you seen the movie "Jurassic Park"? There's a line in that movie within the first hour that society needs to pay attention to. "People get so obsessed on whether or not they can they don't stop to think whether or not they should". Accomplishment overrides thoughts of consequences. Short sightedness leads to bad decisions.
@Diane Inside: Read Realhousewife's first comment on this hub. She says that Kohls has padded bras for girls but didn't specify an age........yet.
Some people care about nothing but themselves.
Seriously - what is wrong with people... there is no need to come up with anything "sexy" for anyone not over the age of 18. That is ridiculous and asking for trouble. In a way, it kind of reminds of the show "Toddlers and Tiaras" and the way they try to make these babies into adults. I haven't watched the show because I just can't bring myself to it. Seriously - let the kid be a kid! Appalled!
Oh Daffy I should freaking take a picture of it for you! I could on my iPhone...I'm sure it will illuminate the point your making because when you see it with your own eyes you can't help but think WTH?? I told my girls - don't even look at that trashy stuff!
Barbergirl28: some people are good at coming up with ideas, but not good at judging those ideas. They don't stop to consider the implications. They only see something that hasn't been thought of and an opportunity to make some money.
RealHousewife: Actually I would prefer you don't take a picture of it. No one should be looking at that stuff. I don't need to see it to for any reason, and neither does anyone else.
Maybe you should write a hub about it to let everyone know.

Daffy - this is a pet peeve of mine! I was just shopping at Kohls - they have little padded bras for little girls! I'm also appalled! So glad you thought to post this and the name of the offensive designer. There is no purpose for that junk - as a mother of 3 girls - they should be shut down!
Up and everything but funny. I'm sharing!
